Tutor Doctor has been operating for over 10 years with more than 150 offices across the United States, Canada and the U.K.  The primary focus of the company is to help students of all ages improve their confidence, study skills and grades.  Tutor Doctor uses the unique building block learning process during the one-on-one tutoring sessions.  Tutor Doctor makes it flexible and convenient for busy families by offering 'in-home' tutoring. Rebecca Stene has a diverse career portfolio that serves as an excellent background for her success as a Tutor Doctor owner and operator.  Her experience begins with teaching Kindergarten through Grade 12, then moves to Operations, Sales & Marketing Management for a small business and finally to Training Manager for a global semiconductor corporation.  She is passionate and committed to the pursuit of learning and education and believes every child and adult should be given the opportunity to discover and reach their true potential.  Rebecca feels through the strength of the nationally accredited Tutor Doctor program and her expertise in education she can make a difference in the lives of students who are struggling, as well as those who are rising stars!

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia she began her professional career teaching in a prestigious, high achieving Kindergarten to Grade12 School on Sydney’s North Shore. After teaching for 4 years, Rebecca traveled to California to complete her Bachelor of Arts achieving high academic stature (graduating Summe Cum Laude from California State University, Chico). She returned to her Sydney teaching job, where she was promoted and remained for the next 3 years. While teaching full time, she studied part time and completed a Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management. Rebecca then moved back to California to accept a position as Operations Manager for a South Pacific based Tourism Company. There she gained 7 years of practical experience in Operations, Sales and Marketing in a small business environment. Rebecca was then offered the opportunity to join Cypress Semiconductor as a part of a newly formed training organization called Cypress University.

During her 8 years with Cypress, Rebecca was responsible for owning & implementing the corporate Learning Management System (LMS) that trained all internal employees and external partners worldwide. She also created, developed and led the customer support team and later, the Course Development Team which was responsible for creating and developing all Web Based (Online) and Instructor Led courses to assist the company and their partners to sell Cypress products.

Rebecca belongs to a number of professional associations including the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD), the eLearning Guild and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).
